Patrick E. Stockalper
Mr. Stockalper was the 2009-2010 national President of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than ½ of 1% of American lawyers. Mr. Stockalper is a Charter Fellow of the LCA, a Barrister in one of the LCA’s distinguished trial orders, and serves as a Co-Chair of the California delegation of the society. Mr. Stockalper is also the Chair of the LCA Medical Malpractice Committee and has begun formation of the American Academy of Medical Malpractice Lawyers under the auspices of the LCA.
Mr. Stockalper is an Associate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and has served in various leadership capacities with the Los Angeles ABOTA chapter. These positions have included service on the Executive Committee (2010, 2011, and 2012), faculty member for the Jack Daniels Trial School, Membership Chairman (2012), and Program Coordinator for the Master's In Trial Program (2010 and 2012).
Mr. Stockalper is a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC) and has served on the ASCDC's Board of Directors (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012). He is also a representative of the California Defense Counsel (CDC) which represents the interests of the civil defense bar before the California Legislature. Mr. Stockalper is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC).
Mr. Stockalper has been selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer since 2007. Selection for this honor is based on polling and peer evaluation with a detailed research process that evaluates each candidate based on twelve indicators of professional achievement.
Mr. Stockalper has been featured in a national U.S. Legal News publication for a defense verdict involving one of the largest wrongful life cases in U.S. history and has been featured for trial success in the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC) Verdict Magazine. On November 22, 2008, he was featured as the newly named President-Elect for the Litigation Counsel of America on Champions of Justice, the highly rated radio program of LCA Fellow Thomas V. Girardi.
Mr. Stockalper has served as a panelist for various continuing legal education programs, including the National Business Institute and Lorman Education Services. He is a frequent speaker at seminars for healthcare organizations in the areas of medical and dental malpractice and has been a speaker at prior Litigation Counsel of America conferences.
Prior to entering the profession of law, he served as a legislative assistant in both the United States Senate and United States House of Representatives.
Mr. Stockalper was admitted to the California State Bar in 1991. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court-Southern District of California, U.S. District Court-Central District Of California, and the Ninth Circuit Federal Courts of Appeal.
